Not Really a Day in the Life

Entry No.001: An Introduction

I was watching some video on youtube about the personal web and it really resonated with me. Old internet personalized blogs and whatever always seemed super cool to me and I love yapping and writing about literally anything happening to me at any given moment.

A bit about me! I don't think I want to share my name but I use they/them pronouns, and I'm currently in college. I enjoy doing art and designing for my classes, but I also love crochet, origami, video games and music. I try to read as much as I can though, it can be hard to keep up with school and everything.

Currently, I'm preparing for my first market to sell my crochet at! While doing so I'm watching different youtube videos, hence how I landed on this website. It seemed like a simple means to get started in the world of blogging so here I am. I haven't made much for my market so far but I have 4 more days to work so hopefully, I can put more of a dent.

Ideally, I would have some different wearables to show case as my main deal is doing wearable commission work, and then a ton of little quick accessories. I think I want ~6 wearables that I don't care to sell so much as I care for them to get that follow up commission request. The event is pretty small, but it's also the first time it is being hosted so I really have no clue what to expect. I think in a dream scenario I'd have maybe 50 items total? That would be like a total among coasters, pouches, bookmarks... and after that I don't really know.

A part of me wants this sort of debut to be some solidifier in my crochet style and realistically I'm not to that point. I know I'll get there sometime it's just in my mind this is a first impression to a crowd that I may not be repeatedly exposed to so people could either be attracted to something I don't resonate with, or be deterred because I'm not yet making something they'd be interested in. I don't think it's that big of a deal but you'll find I over think these types of things a lot.

Either way, I'm not too worried. I'm having fun staying up late and to myself, making these cute little pouches watching weirdly specific youtube videos. Hopefully this blog will be updated at least semi-regularly. It's pretty relaxing so I see myself sticking with it.

Thanks for your attention :)
